Methods NW is pleased to announce the first call for proposals for funding under its Collaborative Innovation Grants scheme
Applications are invited for up to £2000 to cover all or part of the costs of projects, events, initiatives and symposia that will support cutting-edge developments in research methods across the North West.
We envisage that proposals will fall into two broad categories:
- Methods Innovation Grants (MIGs) will bring together researchers who are interested in particular research methods or combinations of methods to refine, re-invent or find novel ways to apply them to contemporary research problems.
- Thematic Innovation Grants (TIGs) will focus on a particular research problem, question or challenge and bring to bear participants’ expertise in a variety of research methods to develop innovative ways to address them.
Collaborative Innovation Grants are intended to support creative proposals that speak across disciplinary pathways and research fields and that evidence how the NWSSDTP is taking a lead in the application of cutting-edge methodology regionally, nationally and internationally. We particularly welcome proposals enhance the professional development of participants as career researchers.
A successful proposal will therefore be:
- genuinely collaborative
- persuasively innovative
- meaningfully inclusive of PGR students
Applications are invited from staff and postgraduate researchers from across the four contributing institutions and must include participants from at least two of those institutions.
To apply please download the application form and guidance notes. The deadline for applications will be 4pm on Tuesday 1st May. You should receive a response within two weeks.
Enquiries and completed application forms should be directed to Dr Ian Fairweather (firstname.lastname@example.org).
